From South-West Bahia, Dark Tempest quartzite features a near-black base sliced by lightning-like veins of bright white and golden-amber quartz.
Dark Tempest is a magnificently dramatic quartzite, capturing the raw power of a stormy sky. We see a deep, near-black base, alive with powerful, horizontal sweeping formations of dark charcoal and steel-grey. This intense darkness is dramatically punctuated by striking veins of bright white and warm golden-amber quartz, which cut through the stone like lightning across a midnight storm. The extraordinary contrast between the jet-black ground and these luminous white-gold accents creates a breathtakingly stormy aesthetic, making Dark Tempest a commanding centrepiece for any bold luxury worktop.
Quarried from the ancient geological formations of South-West Bahia, Brazil, Dark Tempest is a testament to nature's incredible forces. As a true quartzite, it formed when quartz-rich sandstone was subjected to immense heat and pressure deep within the Earth's crust over millions of years. This process recrystallises the individual quartz grains into an interlocking mosaic of quartz crystals, giving Dark Tempest its exceptional hardness and durability.
