Concrete Effect Mottled

Dark grey quartz with dense mottled lighter grey patterning — a refined, sophisticated dark concrete surface.

Unistone Tartufo brings dark, truffle-rich sophistication to the concrete aesthetic. Its dominant dark grey base is covered by a dense random mottled pattern of irregular interconnected areas in slightly lighter muted grey. The uniform non-reflective matte or honed finish creates visual texture through subtle tonal variations rather than physical roughness. Named after the truffle — that rare, earthy, deeply flavoured ingredient — Tartufo has the same sense of refined richness. It's darker and more sophisticated than Concreto, with more defined mottling that creates genuine depth. Manufactured by Brachot with Through Tone Technology. Over 90% natural quartz, NSF certified. 15-year warranty. Available in standard and jumbo slab formats. Supplied and installed by In2Stone across Hampshire.

Frequently Asked

Questions About Tartufo

What does Unistone Tartufo look like?
Tartufo has a dominant dark grey base with dense random mottling in slightly lighter muted grey. The matte finish is non-reflective. It reads as a sophisticated dark concrete — the mottled tonal variations create visual depth and refined texture. Darker and more defined than Concreto.
What does the name Tartufo mean?
Tartufo is Italian for 'truffle' — the rare, earthy, deeply flavoured ingredient prized in Italian cuisine. The name captures the surface's refined richness and dark, earthy character. Like a truffle, Tartufo rewards close attention — its subtle tonal complexity reveals itself on closer inspection.
How does Tartufo compare to Concreto?
Both are concrete-effect mottled designs, but at different depths. Concreto is mid-grey with subtle, soft mottling — lighter and more atmospheric. Tartufo is dark grey with denser, more defined mottling — deeper and more sophisticated. Concreto is weathered concrete in daylight; Tartufo is polished concrete in candlelight.
Does the dark mottling hide marks?
The dense mottled pattern on the dark base is extremely forgiving. Crumbs, water marks, and everyday wear are virtually invisible against the busy dark background. The matte finish further reduces fingerprint visibility. For a dark surface that's practical for daily use, Tartufo's mottling provides excellent camouflage.
What cabinetry suits Tartufo?
White cabinetry creates bold contrast with the dark worktop. Natural timber adds warmth. For an immersive scheme, dark charcoal or navy cabinetry with Tartufo creates a moody, enveloping kitchen. Brushed brass hardware creates warm accents. The dark, refined character suits contemporary and luxury kitchen designs.
★★★★★
"Excellent Service and Beautiful Results - Highly Recommended! I recently had In2stone install new quartz worktops in my kitchen, and I couldn't be happier with the results. From start to finish, the experience was completely stress-free. The team was not only competitively priced but also incredibly friendly and professional throughout the entire process. They handled everything seamlessly - removing the existing sink, hob, and old laminate worktops before fitting the new quartz surfaces. The finished worktops are absolutely beautiful and have transformed my kitchen into a modern, minimalist space that I love spending time in. The quality of workmanship is outstanding, and the attention to detail really shows. I'm a very satisfied customer and would highly recommend In2stone to anyone considering new worktops. Well done to the entire team - you've exceeded my expectations!"
